A tailored approach to every home move

A successful removal starts with understanding the full picture. Key details such as the size of your load, access at both properties, and any specific requirements all play an important role in planning a smooth move.

You can provide this information by sending us a detailed list of items along with any relevant notes or by arranging a convenient home survey. Appointments are available during the day, early evening, or even on Saturdays to fit around your schedule.

During the survey, a representative will assess your belongings, discuss your needs, and determine the resources required — from team size to timings — ensuring everything is carefully planned from the outset. You’ll also receive guidance on packing and preparation, with the option of a full packing service using high-quality materials. If preferred, you can handle some or all of the packing yourself, with support available where needed. For larger moves, packing can be arranged in advance, so everything is ready for moving day.

Essential packing tips for a smooth move

Proper packing helps prevent damage, reduces moving time, and keeps costs under control. Here are some tips from our experts:

  • Use small boxes for heavy items like books and larger boxes for lighter items, ensuring no box is too heavy to carry comfortably. Always seal boxes with strong tape, reinforcing the base and sides for durability.

  • When packing fragile items, wrap each piece individually using paper or bubble wrap and add cushioning inside the box to stop movement. Pack glasses upright and plates on their sides, and clearly label any fragile boxes.

  • To stay organised, label every box with both its contents and destination room — this makes unloading and unpacking much quicker and easier.

Practical room-by-room guidance

Start packing early, beginning with items you don’t use every day. Only dismantle furniture when necessary, and keep all screws and fittings safely stored and labelled.

  • Clothing: Use wardrobe boxes to keep clothes on hangers, or pack neatly into standard cartons

  • Drawers: Empty all drawers before moving

  • Electronics: Keep cables, remotes, and accessories together; ensure items are well padded

  • Lamps: Dismantle and pack bases and shades separately

  • Kitchen & fragile items: Use plenty of padding and clearly mark boxes as fragile

For appliances and outdoor items:

  • Fridges & freezers: Empty and defrost in advance

  • Washing machines: Disconnect and drain before moving

  • Garden items: Clean tools and bundle securely; dismantle larger items like sheds or furniture if needed
